Milkyway Astronomy Camp at Coorg! April

We will be in Coorg on 12, 13 and 14th April, 2024. This is the season for watching the Milkyway (and also millions of fireflies). Please register early as there are only limited slots as always!

Schedule
3.00 PM: Arrival, briefing followed Introductions
3.30 PM: Discussion on astronomy with experience astronomer, understand our origin story, open Q&A
4:30 PM: Coffee and snacks and enjoy the farm and take in the views during the evening walk around the estate. Visit one of our lakes during sunset
6.30PM: Stargazing session - Jupiter and its moons, dense star clusters, double stars with powerful telescope. Explore craters and mountains on our moon. Introduction to the night sky. Learn to identify some constellations, names of some bright stars. Also, watch artificial satellites with your naked eyes.
8.30PM-9.30PM: Campfire and dinner.
9.30 PM Night drive around the 1000 acre private estate. Witness fireflies
10.00 PM-4.30 AM: Go to sleep, or NOT! If you choose to stay awake, we show you some more deep space objects. You can also use your phone and DSLR with tripods to photograph the night sky, with our guidance.
4.30 AM: Stargazing with telescopes resume. See the morning constellations, Saturn, Venus, Mars, artificial satellites and learn how the sky changes with time. Witness the glorious milky way with your naked eye and take photographs with your camera/phone and tripods
6.00 AM: Watch the sun rise followed by a short trek around the estate: Feed the fish at a lake .
8.30 AM: Breakfast and leave
